Role Overview

Location: Remote

Type: Part-time contract, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time.

As Facer Studios’ Staff Watch Face Designer, you’ll be responsible for concepting, designing, producing, and publishing watch faces for Facer Studios’ own brand and our licensed brand partners. You’ll own each design from initial idea to launch, including the assets and promotion that help it reach its audience.

Responsibilities

• Own watch faces from concept and design through production, testing, publishing, and marketing.

• Develop and present concepts in Figma for Facer Studios and licensed brands, incorporating feedback from the internal team and licensors.

• Coordinate closely with our Licensing team on brand guidelines, licensor feedback, and approvals. Secure internal approval before presenting to licensors and required sign-offs before publishing.

• Build polished faces in Facer Creator, including animation, interactions, and data-driven elements. Follow brand guidelines and keep editable assets organized.

• Adapt and test designs for Apple Watch and Wear OS, including readability, supported features, and always-on modes; resolve issues before launch.

• Publish approved faces and market them with Facer’s team, creating listings, previews, promotional visuals, and campaign assets.

• Track audience response and performance, then improve designs and promotion.

Qualifications

• A successful, prolific watch face designer with a substantial published catalog and evidence of audience or commercial success—ideally on Facer, or on another watch face design and publishing platform.

• A portfolio spanning distinct styles, such as realistic analog, minimalist, retro digital, and character-led or animated faces, with strong typography and composition.

• Proficiency in vector/raster design tools and watch face authoring, including layers, animation, and expressions or conditional logic. Facer Creator expertise is strongly preferred over experience with other authoring platforms.

• Strong Figma proficiency for concepting, presenting designs, and collaborating on feedback with internal teams and licensors.

• Excellent spoken and written English, with confidence presenting concepts and working directly with Facer colleagues and licensors.

• Ability to work independently, manage feedback and deadlines, and deliver consistently from concept through launch.

• Already a member of Facer Originals or the Facer Creator Partner Program.

• Experience with licensed brands, entertainment properties, or recreating physical watch designs.

• Experience using AI tools to streamline production workflows, from design and asset creation to publishing and marketing.

• Advanced motion design, character animation, or realistic materials and lighting.
